25th-Apr-2009 01:03 pm - Brand New SoCal Sera Myu Forum!
rei, hino

Hello everyone!

I am writing with some new and exciting news for you all. I was asked by Chuu-chan this week to create a new forum for SCSM to complement our website overhaul/renovation. And after thinking till my brain hurt, numerous hours tinkering with the site, and re-familiarizing myself with CSS code, our new forum was born!

SoCal Sera Myu Forum

I want this forum to be our lifeline between fans, supporters, and all our sisters in the Sera Stage Musical Alliance. However, this will not work without you...so register in our forum today! As a guest, you will only have limited access, while full-fledged members get complete use of our forums, including behind the scene posts, as well as interactions with cast members! If you're an artist and a member of our forums, you can even post your artwork/fanart. The forum still needs some fleshing out but feel free to start posting, or even creating a topic.I am certain that this forum will be the best way to ask questions, learn more about, and participate with SCSM. I will continue to post on this blog as always, but I will check in at the forum daily. I look forward to seeing you all in our forums very soon! Get excited!

I love you all!!!

Hello minna-san!

Long time no update, so I did a very rushed little bloggy thingy. I literally rolled out of bed and recorded this, which explains the lack of makeup and bed head XD. So sorry, but I really wanted to catch up wtih you all! So please excuse the hot mess that is Emi....

Oh, and if the links don't work in the video, here is the link to the first ever SoCal Sera Myu Single--"An Evil Dream" sung by the beautiful and talented Chuu-chan (Ashleigh Antonia): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l93e4SJ8kxw

And please don't forget to visit our newly renovated web site!!

P.S. I also noticed pretty much all my screencaps for my vlogs are unflattering...my eyes are closed in all of them @_@ I guess I need to stop blinking or something!?!?!?

So I'll leave you with that random tidbit of information as I head off to bed--oyasuminasai!!

Love,
Emi
8th-Apr-2009 07:55 pm - And the battle begins (take two)
thinking hurts

Hey everyone,

OOOOOOOOOOOKAYYYY so just to let you know after writing this huge, long, ginorumous rant post about my Myu fuku, LiveJournal decides to EAT my entry....yeah, that's right, it disappeared on me. And now I am in even a grumpier mood than before! RAWR *shakes fist at LJ* CURSE YOU FOR ERASING MY ENTRY!!

Alright, now that's out of my system, I can try to write *again* all that stuff from before....hmmm let's see if I can even remember...

Well, first things first, I must apologize for no Vlog today, I have been feeling sick, waking up with a headache every day this week as well as a runny nose. And to be quite frank, I feel/look like a hot mess....so I'm not going to force you to see that. But seeing as how LJ just screwed up my previous post, I can see why I do Vlogs now!

Anywho, I was meaning to post progress pictures of my white bodice for you all until I found my camera missing. Seems like daddy decided to borrow it without asking and oh yes, left it behind at his work. SO hopefully if my dad remembers to return it this time, I should have photos posted tomorrow.

As far as the sewing itself, I really haven't done to much to it besides sew the snaps in at the bottom. I was feeling pretty proud of myself until I actually tried it on @___@ I don't know what happened, I sewed and followed directions to the T but the fit on me is horrible!

I think part of the blame is because of, well.... my "bustiness" so to speak. For those of you who know me in real life you know what I'm talking about! I guess my bust pulls up so much of the fabric in the front that there's not enough fabric left at the bottom to close it with the snaps. I can still fit into it if I close the snaps first then slip it on, but it's a tight squeeze and I cannot imagine dancing around in it! The ladies just get squished and they cannot breathe!!! I was thinking of sewing an extension piece of fabric at the bottom to make it longer, but I'm wondering if I should even bother, because I also hate how high the cut is at the legs.

The cut of the bodice is so high up, it hardly feels like I'm not wearing anything. Just imagine how high briefs are cut....yeah kinda like that...it almost sits right on my hip!!! And well....let's just say I need/want coverage at the bottom, and lots of it. I don't want to be spinning around and stuff with a bottom that hardly feels like underwear! I'm almost tempted to just chop off the bottom part, make it a dress, and then sew a separate pair of spankies

From what I understand, this is how the real Myu fukus were constructed anyways. But I have to think it out before I just hack something off, because once I cut it, it's GONE and I can't put it back on! I know it'll fit better once I sew the extension on, but the cut will still be really high. And I also don't feel like I should cut the bottom because then I lose that "tension" in the bodice, and it'll become baggy and too loose-but then I'm thinking the weight of the skirt might weigh it down. I don't want to regret my decision or anything, so yeah, I've been thinking about this problem for half of the day. SHeesh, the battle has already begun and I'm barely making the bodice! And the worst part is, I'm just thinking in circles and it's making my brain hurt. So I'm going to make this democratic and take votes, b/c Lord knows I won't be able to decide on my own. Also, if you have any advice, comment below--it is much appreciated because this problem is driving me nuts!

So anyways, enough of my ranting and raving, it's time to get this fuku working!

And thanks for listening to me whine, I love you all!

Love,
Emi

Hi there!

Just checking in with some more videos. They are still quite long, so please forgive me! I am trying my best to keep these as short as possible, and I've switched over from Photobucket to YouTube, which lets me upload longer videos! Yay! I bought a new camcorder so that I can Vlog on the go and I love it! So check it out and enjoy! Today's theme was all about fundraising for SCSM!

Hey everyone--

So here is my first attempt Vlog. Please excuse it--it's not very good and quite amateurish. So just forget the fact that I had absolutely no makeup on and said "umm" like a bazillion times! But I feel like the more I Vlog the better I will get. So enjoy it! It's basically just a little introduction/ status update! Talk to you guys later!

Hi everyone!

I hope that this past week has treated you well and I hope your weekend will be even better! Please forgive me once again for the lack of entries on my journal, I actually have been meaning to put some new announcements up, but have failed to do so- >__< gomen ne!

The reason/excuse for this has been due to a big, busy week. A lot of this week had been dedicated to finding the fabric for and sewing my fuku. Things are going well, but I hit a speedbump along the way. I ended up partially sewing my leotard base until I flipped it right side out and found that there were some stains on the fabric. The people at Joann's sold me a piece of dirty fabric.....so sad T_T. It looks like it will come out though and I actually put some shout stain remover on the spots and seemed like it worked. The only issue I'm debating is whether or not I should throw it in the wash. And if I do, should I wash it after I sew all the pieces together, or if I should rip out all the seams I made thus far and just wash all the pattern pieces separately...what do you guys think?

Another reason for my scarcity has been my Polynesian dancing. Yes, you heard right....Polynesian dance, which is a mixture of all different kinds of dancing from the islands. This can range from really fast Tahitian dancing to a more relaxed Hula. I have been a Polynesian dancer for a few years now, and I absolutely love it--it's a great workout and oh so sexy. As some of you know, I had a dance performance this weekshowcasing some of our routines. I always get nervous while dancing in front of huge crowds but I'd like to think I did okay. I know I messed up a few times, which frustrates me, because I know that I learned that routine by heart, only to have my nerves undermine me. Argh! I heard that someone at the auditorium recorded it, so hopefully I will get my hands on that video so that I can show it to you. But in the meantime, please enjoy these photos, kindly taken by my friend Yuuka's husband!

Oh wow, there's so much more to tell you, but sadly I do not have enough time. I have a 5K to run tomorrow, so I need my sleep! I'm participating in the Race for Autism, which will be held in the scenic Balboa Park. I'm really looking forward to it, and it's for a good cause. My next walk/run will be for the San Diego Human Society in May! Yay!

Anyways, I have been super busy, but still excited for SCSM more than ever. There's actually a lot of other exciting SCSM news that I have heard, but I'll have to wait for another time to blog about it. I think I might have to take my webcam out and start doing video blogging...sound like a good idea?? I think I might actually be able to get more done that way. So I guess the next time you see me it will be in video form---YAY! Until then please take care!

22nd-Mar-2009 08:03 pm - Music Player
thinking hurts

Hey all--

I've been trying to find cool things to put on my blog, and I found a cute music player for my site. Problem is, Livejournal has a block on certain html tags and programs, such as javascript and flash. Anywho, I'm sure this whole nerd jargon isn't making sense, but to make a long story short, it won't let me put this music player anywhere else but in my journal entry. So yeah, sorry about that >_< I'm hoping I'll eventually find a way to put this music player in my sidebar, but I have been trying pretty much all day and no luck, so here it'll stay until my brain stops hurting...It's getting late so I better get going, but I'll write more tomorrow!

Minna-san!

Long time no talk everyone! I hope all of you have been doing well since I've written last--gomen for the lack of updates. I do have a few little tidbits of information that I can tell you!

The first one is that Casey, our beautiful Sailor Venus, has also decided to blog about her Sera Myu adventure as well. She works very closely with Chuu-chan and I love them both *huggles*! So please visit her journal at: http://vbabe1.livejournal.com/ or click on this beautiful banner below:

These beautiful cast banners have been made by our talented Chuu-chan....you go girl! Here's what mine looks like:

Isn't it gorgeous? I absolutely love Megumi as Mars *makes starry eyes* But please remember, these are cast banners made especially for SCSM, so please do not use unless you are part of the SCSM cast! Aaaaaaaaaaand speaking of our beautiful and talented Chuu, today she made me these totally awesome Mars user icons *points to her new user icon*! I heart them so much, many thanks, hugs and kisses go out to Chuu!

BTW, Casey and Chuu-chan went to the LA garment district to go fabric hunting this past weekend..and came away with white fabric for bodices, so I am super excited about that....so despite my lack of updates, SCSM stuff is still happening behind the scenes! So stay tuned, things are happening and fast!

Okies, well I must be going, but I promise I will be more diligent in writing more often! I will now go scamper off and start cutting out pieces for my fuku bodice at night until the wee hours of the morning!

Much love,
Emi

In 1993 on August 11th, the first Musical Pretty Soldier Sailormoon (Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen) debuted at the Yuupouto Kanihoken Hall in Tokyo. The last official show was Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu Kaiteiban, which ran its last performance on January 16, 2005. Though Bandai never officially closed the musicals, a new show has not been produced since.

Now, in 2009, numerous fan productions are starting all over the country and the world. This, had the musicals continued, would have been its 16th year. So, in celebration of the revival of the shows and of the fan performances everywhere, SCSM is celebrating the "Musical Sailor Moon Sweet Sixteen".

On August 11th, Sera Myu will celebrate her Sixteenth birthday. A tradition in the US, Sweet Sixteen parties are celebrated as a great coming-of-age celebration. So, despite the fact its not a "traditionally" celebrated anniversary (such as 10 or 50), we're celebrating anyway, in the spirit of Sera Myu, and of fandom all over for BSSM.

~*Keep watching the SCSM homepage for updates, celebration info, and exclusive merchandise as we celebrate all year long!*~
